Restocked Indonesian Carved Bone Skull Bead (32mm)
02/02/08 11:53
We were able to get these back in stock - finely carved Indonesian white large (32mm) bone skull beads!
The detail in these large handcarved white bone skull beads is incredible. Note that this bone has not been aged or smoked and is a creamy white color. Several hanging holes are drilled. Beads measure 32mm long by 15mm wide (remember that 25mm~1 inch!). Made in Indonesia
Restocked Bone & Resin Skull Beads, Poker Tile Beads & More!

Fabulous detail and antiquing on these resin skull beads. With large side drilled holes, these beads measure 16mm wide by 22mm long. Sold individually.
These bone poker playing card tile beads are similar to our mah jongg tile beads except that they are patterned after a standard deck of poker cards. The beads are two-sided and are drilled top to bottom. They are 25mm high and 19mm wide. The hole is approximately 1mm. They are carved and the color is inlaid (painted). They are not perfectly done (there's some coloring outside the lines!) but we think that adds to their charm!
RESTOCKED: This is a spectacularly fine bone carving of a female torso. Nicely antiqued with a small hole for your jump ring or bail, this is really a unique pendant. Hand carved in China. Pendant measures approximately 1-1/2 inch long by 1-1/4 inch wide at its widest point.
Wood bead skull malas in small size are back in stock! Each strand of tiny skull beads has 108 beads and is strung in the mala style on a silk cord. The smaller skull bead is tiny, measuring 5/16" from top to bottom (6-7mm). The generous holes are drilled top to bottom.
RESTOCKED: Similar in quality to our oval Indonesian carved face beads, these round face beads are a creamy white bone with detailed moon face carving. The beads are approximately 25mm in diameter and are sold individually. Please see the photo for the placement of the holes on the back.
NEW SKULL BEADS:
These 15x16mm bone skull beads are nicely carved with large eye holes. Drilled from top to bottom, these skull beads come in a pack of 10 beads.
As with all of our hand-carved beads, there is some variation in the beads but all are lovely.
These wonderfully carved bone skull bead malas measure approximately 9x10mm and come on a silk cord. There are 108 beads on the cord. Use as is or take apart for a generous supply of these wonderful skull beads for all your jewelry projects.
We have other sizes by this same carver--we're delighted to add this larger size to our handcarved bone skull bead inventory!
Limited availability. Hand-carved.
These extra-large hand-carved bone skull beads measure a generous 30 x 31 mm. Nicely carved and reasonably priced, these giant bone skull beads will add a unique accent to your next chunky jewelry project or would make a great head for an art doll!
Restocked handcarved bone beads and folk art items
01/10/08 08:52
Back in stock, these two-sided bone
butterfly beads are drilled top
to bottom and have exquisite
handcarving and detail. They measure
20mm wide and 15mm tall. They are
sold individually.
We finally have the smaller size of our cute hand-carved, bone turtle beads with scrimshaw markings.
This strand of coin-shaped Chinese zodiac bone beads has raised carving and scrimshaw detailing. In addition to beads representing the 12 animals of the zodiac, there are 5 additional decorative round beads, a bone pony bead and Chinese knot. Each of the zodiac beads measure 18mm in diameter the round accent beads are slightly smaller at 15mm and the head bead is slightly larger at 21mm (Remember 25mm~1 inch). These sets are spectacular! These are stunning and are in limited supply. Sold by the strand.
These folk art items have also been restocked:
This silver metal fortune telling ornament is from the Andes. Either heart, round or horseshoe-shaped with people, symbols and animals . . . it would be a great embellishment for an altar or shrine:
These diminutive good luck packets, made in Peru, contain the following items: metalfigures of saints, saints images, horseshoe, miniature broom and a red huayruru seed. All items bestow upon the carrier good luck and protection.
Each vinyl wrapped packet measures 1 inches h by 2 inches w.
The Mexican Saint's Wallet is a crochet-edged vinyl-and-rayon mini-folio filled with Mexican-Catholic symbols. Colors and images vary, but all contain images of saints/religious figures, a tiny religious medal on a small string of seed beads, miniature hand tinted reproductions of saint photo postcards, and a folded and cellophane-wrapped novena prayer.
Shown open, the miniature wallet measures 5-1/8" by 2-1/8 inches open and 1-1/4 inches by 2-1/8 inches folded (it has a snap closure).
Handcarved woodblocks have been the traditional means of printing in Nepal for centuries. Even today, prayerbooks in Himalayan Buddhist monasteries are printed from such blocks.
Handheld tools are carefully used to cut the designs out of "sisau", a type of cedar. Lokta paper handmade from the bark of the Daphne tree is traditionally harvested so that the tree may regenerate.
To print, simply press your woodblock onto the inkpad provided. Then on a padded surface (for example on a pile of newspapers or several layers of cloth), place a piece of lokta paper and firmly pres the woodblock. Gently rock the block in all directions to achieve a clear print.
Each set includes handcarved woodblock stamps, a stamp pad, a generous amount of natural lokta paper, all housed in a lokta covered tray. Because these are hand-carved, expect slight variations in each set.

Kaleidoscope Bracelet in Beadwork Magazine
09/26/07 18:05
Melanie Doerman has created a fabulous
kaleidoscope bracelet, a project that is
described (including instructions) in the
current issue of Beadwork
magazine. (Note that she is
using the "eyes open" version of the
cabochon/bead and we have the "eyes
closed version") It's a terrific
project -- thanks Melanie for citing
us as a source!
