This is a very simple project which requires only your imagination and a few basic supplies. We have the basic supplies in our coaster book kit. If using gesso, paint the boards first and let this dry completely. Using a collage technique, adhere torn, cut and stamped papers to boards. Let the adhesive dry.
Apply acrylic paint or glaze to the collaged papers, if desired. Let dry. Finish with a varnish to seal and waterproof the boards. Several coats of the varnish are desirable. Apply each coat of varnish and let dry completely. Lightly sand this coat before application of additional coats. Repeat the application of varnish and sanding as many times as needed (I did 4 coats).
Attach ball chain to boards by threading through center board. Voila! A coaster book of your very own to keep or to give as a gift. You can use the mesh bag to store.
